Sickle Cell Initiative

As you may already know the Statewide Charity of SGLLR Anita Mobley is Sickle Cell which primarily affects people of African, Hispanic, Middle Eastern and Indian descent. Sickle cell disease affects more than 100,000 people in the United States and 8 million people worldwide. In the United States, more than 90% of people who have sickle cell disease are non-Hispanic Black or African American, and an estimated 3%-9% are Hispanic or Latino.
